Assistant Camp Director Salary: $17 - $22 per hour based on experience

Assistant Camp Director Hours: Monday - Friday through the summer, no nights or weekends!

Assistant Camp Director Responsibilities:

• Assist in the supervision, training, motivation and evaluation of camp staff.
• Interviews, trains, develops, and evaluates the counselors in training.
• Oversee and direct bus daily route transportation.
• Responsible for the safety and well-being of campers.
• Ensure that all staff under the incumbent's supervision understand and comply with all
• personnel & other policies established by the Board of Trustees and professional staff.
• Assist in the development of the daily schedule and as ensure that all aspects are followed appropriately and in a positive way (electives, special programs, daily events).
• Assist in the development and implementation of staff training.
• Assist in the supervision and organization of all camp field trips.
• Consult with staff regularly to ensure programs are valuable, attitudes are positive, and to maintain good relations with them.
• Assist in guiding staff through self-evaluation process and camp programs.
• Work cooperatively with fellow directors, maintenance staff, tent and trailer staff, day camp staff and parents.

Assistant Camp Director Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in college level courses, and/or has completed at least 30 hours of college accredited classes.
• Minimum of 2 years prior experience working with children.
• Minimum of 1 year prior experience in day camp.
• Prior experience working with and supervising staff.
• Prior or current experience in education, recreation, child psychology or related fields.
• Personal character traits, consisting of the ability to be flexible, cooperative, understanding, personable, focused and organized.
• Must be able to swim.
• Possess at hire and maintain CPR certification, or obtain within 30 days of hire.
